The Brief
Having lived in their home for eight years, Saira and her family wanted to transform their disjointed property into a home that made more sense. The family are sociable so a big kitchen was important. Saira also wanted a peaceful, practical area to kick back after a long day, and the two children needed room to play, plenty of storage and a peaceful spot for homework and TV. With a keen eye for design, Saira was looking for a high-end finish that reflected her own immaculate sense of style.
What we did and the outcome
The level of detail required for this extensive refurbishment was a pleasure to plan. We extended the back of the house into an inside/outside dining area with hanging chairs and floor-to-ceiling windows, while introducing plenty of new storage and a cosy cinema room. The whole house was given a high-end, luxurious finish with rich colours and bespoke fixtures and fittings.
We used opulent metallic detail to reflect the party element of the family’s social lifestyle. Flecks of copper and metallic touches together with strong deep accent colours in furniture and accessories were introduced across preparatory mood boards, and can now be seen throughout the ground floor bespoke furniture, in the backdrop of the secret bar sitting behind bespoke aluminium doors, in the bedroom’s beautiful bespoke glass light pendant and on the wall in the hallway, where a stunning giant silver plate takes pride of place above the metal-framed designer’s sideboard. Bespoke sofas, armchairs and chaises tongues together with carefully selected luxurious fabrics and coloured glass accessories contributed to the comfort Saira was after. The natural notes of calm are a reminder that the reading corner, cinema room and neutral-toned bedrooms are places where solace can be found. The family now spend much more time together thanks to this sociable, practical and elegant redesign also featuring 2 fabulous hanging chairs.
